Gemini Crosses 750 Million Users — 2.4M Developers, 85B API Calls in January Alone
Google's Gemini platform has crossed 750 million monthly active users as of Q4 2025 — a staggering 107x increase from the roughly 7 million users it had in late 2023. The milestone was disclosed at Alphabet's Q4 earnings call and comes alongside a wave of March 2026 updates including the Gemini 3.1 Pro model, deeper Workspace integrations, new Pixel agentic features, and Gemini Canvas arriving in Search. On the developer side, the numbers are equally eye-catching: 2.4 million developers are building on the Gemini API, which now handles 85 billion requests per month.
Two years ago, Gemini was playing catch-up. Today, those figures put it in a serious conversation with ChatGPT as the default AI platform for both everyday consumers and professional builders. The pace of adoption — particularly on the API side — suggests that a meaningful number of developers have made Gemini their primary choice for production applications, not just experimentation.
The combination of consumer scale and developer momentum is exactly the flywheel Google has been trying to build. More users generate more feedback and usage data; more developers build more products that bring in more users. At 85 billion API calls in January alone, that flywheel is clearly spinning.
