Xiaomi Launches Three MiMo-V2 AI Models — Trillion-Parameter Flagship, Multimodal, and TTS
Xiaomi officially launched the MiMo-V2 family — three models in one shot: MiMo-V2-Pro (1 trillion total parameters, 42B active via MoE, 1M token context), MiMo-V2-Omni (multimodal agent model), and MiMo-TTS (expressive speech synthesis).
MiMo-V2-Pro ranks 7th globally on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index and 3rd on both PinchBench and ClawEval — trailing only Claude Opus 4.6. Pricing undercuts Anthropic significantly: $1/$3 per 1M input/output tokens versus $3/$15 for Claude Sonnet 4.6. Xiaomi has also committed $8.7B in AI investment over three years.
The model was led by former DeepSeek researcher Luo Fuli and had already quietly topped OpenRouter's usage charts as the anonymous "Hunter Alpha" before the official reveal. A consumer hardware giant producing near-frontier AI at a fraction of the cost threatens to commoditize the entire upper-mid tier of AI APIs — and signals that the frontier race is no longer just an American or Big Tech story.
